New picture! I started this one really late, at 5 or 6 pm. Ate dinner and finished it at 11pm.
I was having a bit of interference when drawing. I had the pepper on the floor with paper as the backdrop. Siblings would come running through the room and knock my faux-studio down, and I'd have to set it up again just right. It happened at least 5 times! I almost quit right then and there. I'm so glad I didn't! I really like how this turned out. It does look better on paper than on the computer.
I used an HB, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, and 2H. I couldn't decide how dark I wanted to go, so I used a 4B and then did some touch-ups with the 5B. I was using good paper today! So glad I did.
Tell me your thoughts.
Bravo! Again, I must say: I like your touch with the pencil and with words!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed with all of the details and variations of where the light hits the pepper. I can see and feel the peppers contours, and especially where it sits, firmly on the floor, against the 'wall'. I love your treatment of the background, too.
If you can draw in a moving car, and being encircled with rambunctious siblings, pretty soon you will be able to draw anywhere!
Unbeknownst to them, they were helping you hone your vision. Granted, usually you are matching the drawing to the still life, but now you can also do it in reverse. You are becoming very versatile!
I'm loving your drawings. I may draw today, or soon.
Thank you! I am quite satisfied with this picture. Yes, I do believe I'll soon be able to draw through fire and rain!
ReplyDeleteI guess they were helping inadvertently. It's hard to look at it that way when all you see is your subject being destroyed :D
Thanks again.
