Here is Day 1 of this week. It's a cupcake! I was originally drawing this in color, but mixing Crayola and Prismacolor pencils doesn't work together, so i scrapped it and started in black and white. This one took me a few hours; not too long. I wanted to go a little darker in the shadows, but my paper forbade me. It was chock full of graphite and wanted to fray/pill. Oh well.
Yarska! I LOVE your cupcake!! (Big pats on the back... withdraw to gaze upon cupcake afresh...)
ReplyDeleteIt's excellent! Meticulously observed! Appealing. (hmmm, no pun intended)....and the lemon slice is a drawing unto itself. Nice rendering, as always. Hearty congratulations!
I'm so glad you like it! I had an ugly stage and then it finally pulled together. I hate ugly stages! I hardly did anything to the lime slice actually! It was pretty easy. Most of my time was spent on the bottom part of the cupcake.
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
Same here, actually.
ReplyDeleteI hate ugly stages, too! It all seems so hopelessly fruitless at that juncture, and it seems to get worse before it gets better! But... isn't exciting when it begins to emerge?! That makes the whole sordid experience worth the pain! :-)
