weekly find: paul ferney

So I'm going to do something new here. Along with my daily drawings, I'll do a weekly post of something that catches my eye, or inspires me. There's so much awesome stuff online!

I'll start this first one out with showing you all the work of Paul Ferney. He's an amazing artist who paints these lovely landscape pictures.

His pictures are so peaceful and  soothing. They have a nice impressionistic feel. He is doing something called The Commission Project, where you can send in your favorite picture and he'll make a painting of it.
His renditions of pictures are simply stunning! Have a look here: http://www.paulferney.com/thecommissionproject/?page_id=195

  1. Awesome find, Yarska. I love his work. Sure, he uses photos, but doesn't resort to photo-realism. (I'm sorry, world. I'm not a fan). His work is expressive and artistic a la one of my top favorites, Mary Cassatt. I love how he treats his subjects. Thanks for posting that. I'll soon enter a phase when I will paint like that as well. Great direction.
